SEA-EU-NET 2 project published a new info-poster
5. Mär 2015
The SEA-EU-NET infographic does not only give a detailed impression of the significant scientific activities in the ASEAN region, but also looks at the participation rate of ASEAN Member States in the EU's Framework Programme 7. It presents evidence of bibliometric analyses, which were conducted by ZSI, and depicts ASEAN research ouput and ASEAN-EU research co-operation between 2004-2013.
Some major findings visualised on the info poster are:
- The Europen Research Area (ERA) is the main co-publication partner of ASEAN, indicating the relevance of the EU for research and innovation cooperation: Southeast Asia's co-publication links with the ERA are stronger than with any other region including the US. In 13% of all papers published in ASEAN Member States between 2004 and 2013, there is at least one Europe-based co-author (US: 11%).
- The co-operation is particularly strong in areas like agriculture, fisheries & forestry, biology, biomedical research and earth & environmental sciences.
- The co-publication output with major global partners is generally increasing since 2004, highlighting ASEAN-ERA (European Research Area), ASEAN-US and ASEAN-CN as the strongest co-operation relations.
