The ZSI supports the dissemination of this project from its inception three years ago: This year's European Social Innovation Competition 2015 closed on 8 May. The three prizes of €50,000 will be awarded in November 2015. Before successful semi-finalists will be announced the week of 20 July 2015, and all those short-listed will be invited to take part in a mentoring workshop in Vienna on 7th - 9th September.

 

This year’s social innovation academy will be held in a very special place, magdas HOTEL, a finalist of the first ever Competition back in 2013! By the way: Run as a social business, magdas HOTEL tries to solve social and economic problems with entrepreneurial tools.  The hotel functions like every other company, just that our focus is not the maximization of profit, but the maximization of openess and humanity. Since the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is a neighbor collaborating with its students was obvious. The creativity of the young artists can be found in many corner of the hotel.
Inspired by the workshops in this unique enviroment the second phase of the Competition will then start straight away, leading up to the awards ceremony in Brussels in late November where the three winners will each be awarded a €50,000 prize.
