Open Call Launch – Innovative solutions for a sustainable energy transition
22. Sep 2022
The RIPEET project is launching a Call for Solutions for regional energy transition challenges. The project’s three pilot regions, Extremadura, Ostrobothnia, and the Scottish Outer Hebrides, have each identified the most pressing regional challenge through a serious of collaborative Transition Labs involving local energy stakeholders. Now, the project is looking for solution providers that can co-create solutions in the regions. To support the process, the project is awarding €50 000 to each solution provider in the regions.
Extremadura needs new spaces, tools and resources that put citizens at the heart of the energy transition. The solution provider will be tasked with developing these spaces and knowledge tools to boost collaboration, facilitate access to relevant information and enable citizens to take charge of the energy transition in their region. More information can be found here
In Ostrobothnia, the proposed solutions should connect local resources to local solutions in energy consumption or production. This could for example be the design for a new organisational method in business practices, creating new sustainable business models, actor networks or governance models. More information can be found here
The most prevalent issue in the Outer Hebrides is energy poverty, despite the vast resources and production of renewable energy in the region. With this call, regional stakeholders are looking for a solution that better connects local energy production to local consumers so that energy costs can be reduced. Applicants should submit their application before November 15. More information of how to apply can be found on the RIPEET Website
