Podcast time: Research security in research cooperation with China
14. Jan 2025
In August last year, Gábor Szüdi and Philipp Brugner published their policy brief titled "Knowledge and Perception of Research Security - the Case of Research Cooperation between Austria and China", drawing on the findings made in a related survey in spring of the same year.
The results of this survey on research security in collaborations between Austria and China revealed a fundamental lack of knowledge - not only about key terms related to research security but also about the current policy strategies and recommendations shaping EU-China research partnerships.
In the newest episode of the ReConnect China podcast series, the authors discuss the urgent need for support measures to assess security risks when engaging with potential Chinese partners, including considerations around dual-use aspects. Moreover, they explain the current relevance of the topic within the EU.
