Ausbildung und beruflicher Werdegang:
Philipp BRUGNER is Project Manager, Communications Manager and R&I policy expert at the Centre for Social Innovation GmbH (ZSI) in Vienna, Austria. He received a Master's degree in Slavic Studies/Russian (Magister/M.A. in 2013) and a Bachelor's in Political Sciences/Eastern European Politics (B.A. in 2011) from the University of Vienna and the Herzen State Pedagogical University in St. Petersburg. In 2018 he continued his academic education with a specialised course on Public Policy Economics at the University of Oxford's department for continuing education and in 2020 he finished an academic diploma on Digital Business and Innovation as part of the correspondent online-MBA programme offered by Middlesex University London.
At ZSI Mr. Brugner is mainly engaged in communication and analytical activities with a geographical focus on the EU-Eastern Partnership Countries, Russia and Ukraine. Before joining ZSI, he was working as a freelance journalist for Austrian and German newspapers, followed by a position as a scientific assistant for a project on Russian oil workers at the Department of Geography and Regional Research at the University of Vienna. Some short period of time Mr. Brugner spent also at the International Organization for Migration’s Regional Office in Vienna, working on migration related issues in Russia and Central Asia. Between 10/2016 and 06/2020 he was a Young European Ambassador for the Eastern Partnership countries. Since April 2018 Philipp Brugner is a member of the youth board of the Policy Crossover Center (PCC): Vienna - Europe, an Austrian think tank on EU affairs, and writes on EU topics for print and online media.
