Matchmaking event for European and Southeast Asian researchers/innovators in Bangkok

The Southeast Asia-Europe Joint Funding schemes hosts an event as part of Bio Investment Asia 2019

Date: 26. September 2019

Section: Research Policy & Development

On September 26, 2019, the Southeast Asia – Europe Joint Funding Scheme (JFS) organises a ½-day networking event (matchmaking session) attached to the Bio Investment Asia 2019 exhibition and conference in Bangkok, Thailand.

Bio Investment Asia 2019 is organised by the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) under the umbrella of Thailand LAB INTERNATIONAL 2019. The aim of the event is to accelerate biotechnology and life sciences innovation, business and investment in Thailand and Asia-Pacific and features highlights such as an international exhibition, a conference, a business forum, company presentations and facility visits. The organiser expects to host more than 10,000 participants from over 30 countries.

The SEA-EU JFS Networking Event provides information about the Joint Funding Scheme and the related activities. The currently open "Joint Calls for Proposals 2019 (in Innovation and Science & Technology)" will be presented in detail with a focus on the Joint Innovation Call and its thematic area Infectious Diseases.

To support the set-up of powerful consortia for the submission of strong project proposals, selected European researchers seeking for complementing partner organisations from SEA will present their institution and project ideas. Furthermore, the JFS team aims to organise meetings for European researchers and innovators with potential Thai partners on the side of the conference. Selected beneficiaries of the first two calls under the SEA-EU JFS will be recorded on video by the JFS team during the 3-days event. The statements will feed into an official promotional trailer for the SEA-EU JFS with a planned release in spring 2020.

Philipp Brugner and Hans Westphal from DLR (German Aerospace Centre, Project Management Agency) are in Bangok on behalf of the JFS service team.
