RTI cooperation platforms with Eastern European Partnership (INCO NET EaP) & Central Asian Countries (INCO NET CA) launched
27. Sep. 2013
The INCO-NET EaP project aims to
- Support the advancement of the policy dialogue among the EU and the Eastern European Partnership region, aiming at mutual benefit and thus contributing to develop the collaboration in Science, Technology and Innovation between the EU and the EaP countries through different approaches and communication and exchange formats which are described later in detail.
- Explicitly focus on the societal challenges that have been identified as equally important to all countries involved during the preceding projects, namely Climate Change, Energy and Health, which will be addressed through various structural activities both at policy-support and operational research-support level.
- Introduce concrete measures to strengthen an effective and sustainable innovation partnership between the two regions by launching pilots on basis of variable geometry.
The Inco NET CA project follows the same approach with a particular focus on Central Asian countries.
The kick-off meeting of both 3 years long projects took place in Athens between 18 and 20 September 2013.
ZSI is involved in several tasks, such as
- establishment of an STI cooperation barometer
- bi-regional bibliometric analysis
- organisation of STI policy mix peer reviews in Armenia (tentative) and Kyrgyzstan
- benchmarking of R&D organisations
- organisation of high-level expert seminars on modern STI policies etc.
