S&T Policy Mix Peer Reviews

On 22-23 January 2015 the S&T Policy Mix Peer Reviews (PMPR) for Armenia, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan were launched with a joint kick off meeting in Athens. The projects IncoNet EaP and IncoNet CA provide the necessary resources for this complex undertaking. S&T policy mix reviews serve to assess the science system of a certain country, with the support of international experts (peers). On the basis of international experience and good practice with S&T governance, financing of research, etc. recommendations are given for improving the respective S&T system.
Following intensive preparation of the visits to the countries also together with the hosting organisations the one-week visits took place.

The peer groups for the review in Armenia, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan consisted of a group of peers from countries volunteering to support the action and having substantial knowledge and insight in recent STI policy developments on EU level and for the regions covered. In each country an experienced Team Leader supported the conduction of the numerous meetings with stakeholders from the countries. Further results will be available in July 2015, the findigns will be presented by the Team Leaders during visits to the countries in September/October 2015.

ZSI leads the task in both regional INCO-nets, supported the PMPR in Georgia with an expert (Martin Felix Gajdusek) and organises as team leader (Manfred Spiesberger) the process in Kyrgyzstan.
