According to a recent press release (cf. attm) EC-President Barroso has discussed the topic with experts and various stakeholders. He wants to promote social innovation in the course of the European Union's new social agenda.

The ZSI, which is still unique by its scientific approaches and was pioneering issues of social innovation since 1990, is now part of a world with mounting activities and resources targeted on social innovation.
