From innovation performance assessment to innovation policies

On 3-4 May 2016, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, together with ZSI and SPI organised a workshop on the measurement of innovation and on how policy can learn from it. The workshop was - inter alia - reflecting the very first time participation of Ukraine in the European Innovation Scoreboard/Innovation Union Scoreboard.
The key presentation was done by Chrstian Rammer (picture) from the Centre for Europen Economic Research, Germany, on 'The European Innovation Scoreboard - Objectives, Methodology and Country Coverage Criteria'. He also gave a presentation on the 'German innovation indicators project' and its relation/differences to the IUS to broaden the discussion. Klaus Schuch, ZSI, presented upcoming issues in the field of innovation measurement. Several speakers from Austria, Portugal, Luxembourg etc. and all Eastern Partnership Countries contributed to the discussions and presented the state of art of innovation policy measuring in their countries.
The workshop was attended by the Deuputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Emil Tarasyan, and the Deputy Chairman of the Sate Committee of Science of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Vardan Shakyan.
