The EP-DeM award: the practices that have been selected and why

Equity, Participation, Decision Making Labs

Read in our third newsletter about the four practices that have been selected under the EP-DeM Award: EP-DeM Newsletter 3. With this award, we aimed at recognising and supporting the efforts of those organisations, public and private, engaged in promoting more equitable and participatory measures for youngsters across Europe, especially if they live
in disadvantaged conditions.

We believe that the selected projects and measures represent well this attempt: from a community organisation in London that supports young people in comprehensive and holistic way since 16 years, to a Peer Education project embedded in junior high schools in Piedmont (Italy), to a College in Dublin that challenges the “formal” education system through its throughout embeddement in the local community – even in a very difficult environment, to a European project experimenting the storytelling to combat radicalization and social exclusion, and to develop
social, civic, and intercultural competences.

There were other very interesting projects that wanted to share with us their vision and approaches. We collected them and you can find them in our Observatory: http://www.epdemlabs.eu/observatory/surveys.
