6. Mar. 2019

Strengthening links with civil society generally contributes to a better acceptance of scientific results

It moreover helps the commercial success of innovative ideas and products. This is why the Made in Danube is organising Three Open Innovation World Cafés in upcoming months, respectively in Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia. The goal is to help build new links and strengthen existing ones between regional initiatives and the Danube Regional innovation systems to create synergies and improve the impact.

The World Café format was chosen for these upcoming events. It consists in a whole group interaction method focused on conversations. Such format stimulates a creative process for leading collaborative dialogue, sharing knowledge and creating possibilities for action in groups of all sizes.

The events target the civil society in the broader sense: 1) the "third sector" of society, distinct from government and business, and including the family and the private sphere; 2) the aggregate of non-governmental organizations and institutions that manifest interests and will of citizens and 3) individuals and organizations in a society which are independent of the government. The World Cafés shall gather needs and demands from civil society in the fields addressed by pilot actions.
