23. Feb. 2022

The EC selected the Horizon Europe project "ReConnect China" with involvement of ZSI for funding

We are pleased to announce that the Horizon Europe project "ReConnect China: Generating independent knowledge for a resilient future with China for Europe and its citizens" with involvement of ZSI successfully passed the evaluation stage and has been chosen for funding under this Horizon Europe call scheme.

ReConnect China mobilises leading scientific European expertise and innovative digital technologies to generate a deeper, sustainable understanding of contemporary China and works towards a resilient future with China for Europe and its citizens by setting up an interdisciplinary network of independent European knowledge and expertise on contemporary China.

The project consortium is coordinated by the University of Ghent and brings together 15 partners from across Europe in total: Six universities (University of Ghent, University of Tartu, University of Turku, University of Groningen, University of Vienna and University of Olomouc), six think tanks (Egmont Institute, Clingendael Institute, Istituto Affari Internazionali, French Institute of International Relations, Swedish Institute of International Affairs, Elcano Royal Institute), one research institute (ZSI), one state agency (Innovation Norway) and one public institute under governmental administration (Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre).

ZSI leads the work in two areas: maximising the impact of ReConnect China's research outputs & analysing EU-China research cooperation

As a contributor, ZSI works on these areas too: analysis of China's foreign policy towards the EU with a focus on diplomacy & analysis of China's economic diplomacy towards the EU
