From science diplomacy to research security: Preparing COST actions

22. Jun. 2024

Days of intensive training in Brussels

Recently the European Science Diplomacy Alliance, the COST Association and ReConnect China cooperated in the organisation of a training for principal researchers from newly funded COST actions. For a couple of days, 30+ researchers stayed in Brussels to participate in specific training activities aimed at increasing their practical skills and knowledge about international cooperation in research. On June 20, the training's topic was science diplomacy. As one of its dimensions, research security in the case of cooperation with China was discussed. Based on the research done in the ReConnect China project, COST participants were introduced to the new EU research security package and given examples how research security is applied in Higher Education Institutions across EU Member States.
