Acronym: IBMC
IBMC is organised in three thematic units: Neuroscience, Infection and Immunity, and Molecular and Cell Biology, with 49 research groups and over 200 researchers that pursue more than 100 projects funded nationally or internationally. The IBMC hosts researchers funded by various sources and lecturers from faculties of the University of Porto. The Institute explores technology transfer and industry contract research demonstrating our commitment for the translation of research into value for society. IBMC has a policy of share core scientific services, including Light and Electron Microscopy, Protein Production and Purification, Cell Culture and Genotyping, Flow Cytometry, Analytical Biochemistry, High-Throughput screening and Animal Facility. Given the social implications and public interest of the work, IBMC actively encourages its researchers to engage in public activities such as school talks and projects, science fairs and other public events and science-media cooperation
