ISF Central Asian Water Regional Science Diplomacy: A Stakeholder's Platform
The overall objective of this project within the International Service Facility of the European Commission (ISF, framework contract) is to set up and operationally support the Central Asian Regional Water Stakeholder's Platform (WASP). The WASP is aimed at complementing the activities of the European Commission in Central Asia (CA, i.e. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) and in this respect to become a key instrument in sustainably developing cooperation on water research and innovation issues in the region.
The WASP is initiated and established with two events, taking place in Central Asia: a kick-off meeting will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan in March 2019 and a Final Meeting in early 2020. The Platform meetings are complemented by three thematic workshops on specific issues in water research and innovation, one to be held in June 2019 in Dushanbe, and two in September 2019 in Bishkek.
ZSI oversees the implementation of the thematic workshops.
