Innovation Potentials in Central Europe

Comparative Study AT/CZ/SK/HU/HR/SI

Under the conditions of preparation for EU enlargement, the alignment of innovation potential and the most systematic coverage possible of indicators of R&D standards and instruments for research and technology promotion are essential. From an Austrian point of view, the focus is on the investigation of these issues in Austria and comparisons to neighboring countries. This topic is interesting not only for the purpose of obtaining information about the situation in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia, and the analysis of the same indicators (use of resources and impacts) in Austria. This results in possibilities for a concrete comparison of inventories and change tendencies, which are presented in "country profiles".
