Co-ordination office of the Austrian Science and Research Liaison Office in Ljubljana
The ZSI was - from 2004 till 2010 - co-ordination office of the Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices in Sofia and Ljubljana. ASO Sofia finished its activities at the end of March 2010! ASO Ljubljana continued, together with the ZSI, its activities in South Eastern Europe until the end of 2011.
The Austrian Science and Research Liaison Office Ljubljana has been established in October 1990 to intensify scientific contacts between Austria and Slovenia as well as to initiate scientific co-operation. The ASO Ljubljana is operated on behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research and supports the science policy of the BMWF in South Eastern Europe.
Activities of ASO Ljubljana included, among others:
1. Focus on annual thematic priorities as a basis for activities
2. Support for researchers from Austria, Slovenia and the Western Balkans within the identified priorities
