Final report on the study "Social Innovation as Valuation and Outcome Category of SNSF-funded Research" conducted by the Center for Social Innovation, Vienna. Mandated by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and carried out from 2021 to 2022, the study is part of the work done under the SNSF's strategic priority "Value of Research".
With a mixed-methods-approach of a survey (sample of 1002 PIs, 361 participants) and in-depth interviews with principal investigators (47 interviews) and practice partners (8 interviews), the study used the concept of social innovation as an analytical starting point to trace contributions to social impact from SNSF-funded research projects.
