Education and career:
MA Science Technology Society and BA Sociology, University of Vienna
Stefanie Schürz studied sociology and science and technology studies at the University of Vienna, with a focus on the intersections of science, technology, and society in ICTs and online social play, as well as qualitative methodology. She currently works as a researcher in two Horizon2020 projects at the Center for Social Innovation (ZSI), and is involved in project management, coordination, and research activities. There, she engages with the implementation of participatory practices for the development of innovations, as well as the question of participation in research design and evaluation, with a special emphasis on ethical considerations. Stefanie has extensive experience in low-threshold participatory action as well as project management through her previous work at the University of Vienna's Department of Science and Technology Studies, and the not-for-profit Verein Wiener Jugendzentren.
