EUREKA for smart regions: WBC-INCO.NET and SEE-ERA.NET PLUS contributions
21. Mär 2012
WBC-INCO.NET together with EUREKA and the Priority Area “Knowledge Society” of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region held meetings in Pecs on March 7 and 8, 2012. Two ZSI project coordinators addressed the audience informing about the regional initiatives implemented through the projects SEE-ERA.NET PLUS and WBC-INCO.NET: Mr. Felix Gajusek and Ms. Elke Dall.
The regional dimension of EUREKA as well as the synergies and complementarities to other regional funding schemes have been discussed. Regional funds, particularly the EU Cohesion Policy instruments, are a major source of financing that can complement other schemes. The Danube Strategy (Priority 7 “Knowledge Society” and the proposed Danube Region Research and Innovation Fund) have also been introduced and discussed.
