Horizon Europe, Research and Innovation: where should science lead us?
Section: Research Policy & Development
Date: 17. November 2021
On 17 November, EYP Austria is hosting its second European Future Forum, this time with the topic "Horizon Europe, Research and Innovation: where should science lead us?".
The event’s main focus is Horizon Europe, the biggest multinational funding programme for research and innovation that will finance thousands of projects with a budget of €95.5 billion until 2027. We want to examine the origin and the structure of the programme and focus on the political, economic and social relevance of the research it will fund. This is done against the backdrop of the EU's proclaimed ambition to stay a "centre of global research excellence" amidst increasing global competition for scientific talents, while, at the same time, pursuing to strike the balance between the levels of openness and restriction in its international resesarch cooperation. In connection, we will also talk about the scientific work environment in a European context and in close relationship with the EU, which shall give school and university students valuable insights for their career orientation.
