Black Sea Horzon Workshop on the Black Sea Cooperation Programme

1. Feb. 2018

Concluding workshop of the BSH project defined next steps in the BSCP, Athens 25-26 Jan 2018

The BSH project created the "€Black Sea Cooperation Programme"€ (BSCP)€ which was presented and discussed in a dedicated Conference in Athens, in May 2017. Building on the momentum created with the drafting of the BSCP, a workshop was organised jointly by ZSI, CeRISS and ICBSS, in Athens, on 25-26 January 2018, to discuss the priority topics and consolidate the next steps of their implementation.

During the first day of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to reflect on the content of the BSCP,  placing special emphasis on the identification of the priority actions that will set the framework for the future implementation of the Programme.

Through an interactive session, participants discussed about the components of the BSCP that are of (a) high relevance, (b) feasibility, (c) agreed timing, based on the four measures of the BSCP:

  • Joint Research Calls
  • Capacity Building Activities
  • Strengthening Mobility
  • Supporting Innovation.

The second day of the workshop was dedicated to the preparation of the BSH Joint Call, planned to be announced during the next months.

In particular, the discussion focused on the modalities and final technical steps of the planned BSH Joint Call among the funding parties which have declared an interest in participating in the Call.

Senior Officials from international organisations, representatives of funding agencies and researchers from the EU MS and the Black Sea countries, participated to the two-day workshop.
