Successful Kick-off of the SHER project in Prishtina

On 3 October 2024, the new programme Sustainable Higher Education and Research in Kosovo (SHER), was kicked-off in a successful event attended by more than 100 stakeholders in Prishtina. The event marked the official launch of this initiative, which aims to strengthen Kosovo’s higher education and research sector in line with European and international standards. The programme aims to contribute to a sustainable, evidence-based, needs-oriented and gender-responsive higher education and research sector in Kosovo. The Programme is funded by Austrian Development Agency and co-financed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation.
During the event, Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Ms. Arbërie Nagavci, and the Austrian Ambassador to Kosovo, H.E. Georg Schnetzer, delivered inspiring speeches.
Representatives from the implementing consortium, Veronika Nitsche from World University Service (WUS) Austria, Elke Dall from Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI), and Martina Friedrich from OeAD-GmbH – Agentur für Bildung und Internationalisierung as well as the Programme Leader, Aqim Emurli, gave insightful presentations outlining the programme’s goals and the collaborative efforts driving its implementation.
Back-to-back with the Kick-off meeting, our colleague Elke Dall was able to meet with stakeholders from the National Science Council and the University of Prishtina.
